Hantsport School Weekly Update – October 14th to October 18th, 2019


~A big Thank You to our school Librarian Emily Turner and to all who donated financially or in other ways including helping with the BBQ.  This Library Fundraiser “Adopt - a – Book” raised a total of $647.15 !!


~FOOD FOR THOUGHT – Please return all sold ticket stubs and money to the school as well as any tickets that were not sold by this Friday October 18th


~NOURISH YOUR ROOTS – Our school is participating in a healthy food fundraiser called “Nourish Your Roots.”  This fundraiser is in support of our breakfast program.   Each box will contain a variety of fresh root vegetables and may contain some fruit upon availability.  Each box costs $30.00.  Information envelopes were sent home this week and are due back on this coming Thursday October 17th.     Boxes will be delivered to the school October 30th for pick up.  We appreciate your willingness to help raise funds for our Breakfast Club. 


With that is mind, our Breakfast Club is still in need of volunteers.  Please contact the school if you are able to help a morning or two. 


SCHOOL FEES – are now due by October 23rd.   Grade 6’s is $20.00, all other grades is $35.00.  If you are unsure if you have paid for not, please feel free to check with the school office by calling 902-684-4000.

The Annapolis Valley Reg. Centre for Education is hosting a group of Korean students.  Host families are needed!!

We are very excited to announce that the AVRCE is continuing our partnership with Cheongju Daeseong Elementary School in Korea, and is inviting elementary aged students from Korea to Nova Scotia to live with families and attend our schools in the Annapolis Valley. The students vary from grades 4-6. They are arriving on November 24th, 2019 and departing January 18th, 2020. This is an exciting opportunity for our students and families to experience the Korean culture in their own home. Students will live with a host family that has a child similar in age/gender/grade. They do not require their own bedroom. They can share with a host sibling. All students speak English. Host families will receive financial assistance for hosting a student.  For more information on this program or how to become a host family, please contact;  Rob Davies at:
